Things have changed a bit for Country Express. As 2021 came to a close, Country Express sent best wishes to Larry Jamieson as he officially began his retirement from playing music with Country Express. Well over twenty years ago, Country Express was just a dream in the minds of two men, Rob Laing and Larry. That dream became a reality, and through the years, Larry played pedal steel guitar, lead guitar and sang songs from some of the greatest country singers of all time. Larry certainly has left some pretty big shoes to fill. So, the search was on for finding someone to become our new lead guitar player and lead male singer. Who do you replace one of the best musicians in our area with? Well, with another one of the best musicians in our area. Please join us in welcoming John Thompson to Country Express. John shares the same love for country music as the rest of Country Express. His guitar and vocal abilities will enhance the music. John has been playing country music since he was in his teens so he brings years of experience playing country music to Country Express. As we begin playing in 2022, we continue to wish Larry only the best during his retirement from the band, and welcome John to the Country Express family! Come see us at an upcoming gig, meet John and say hi to everyone. You won't be disappointed!
